The C&C Christofphs Guesthouse is centrally located in the Robertson Wine Valley. From here various destinations are within a short drive, making day trips possible, giving you enough time to get back in time for sundowners and relaxing at the pool.

Activities in Bonnievale

Bonnievale offers a wide variety of activities, including many mountain biking trails, hiking trails, boat trips and picnics on the Breede River, wine tasting, shopping, to name but a few. Fishing, golf, tennis, bowls, bird watching, canoeing and horse riding is also possible. Recommended are visits to Montagu and McGregor, both towns within quick and easy reach.


Wine Valley

Centrally located within the Robertson Wine of Origin Region, Bonnievale offers 16 wine estates – from boutique, generations old Family owned Estates, to large commercial Wineries. Various estates offer guided tours and tastings, some including the wonderful cheese and olives produced in the area.

 


Boat trip

Wine tasting and boat trip on the Breederiver with or without picnic basket (length 1.5 hours) can be organized in Bonnievale.


Montagu: 30 minutes drive

Natural hot mineral springs in the are said to aid healing and well-being - worth a visit. Montagu boasts various quality restaurants where you can enjoy authentic South African cuisine. While in the area, visit the dried fruit factory, with its own sales outlet, or take a rustic tractor ride into the mountains with a visit to the Protea farm.


Karoo - Barrydale

A nice trip through the semi-desert landscape of South Africa.


Robertson: 30 minutes drive

Robertson is the next largest town and is about 20 km away. The route leads past imposing vineyards which invite you to linger, for wine tastings or delicious meal - Van Loveren Wine Estate is the largest and most prolific in South Africa. In Robertson you can visit the Birds Paradise, do a tour at the Klipdrift Brandy distillery, and shop at the Rialheim ceramics factory.


Worcester: 1 hour drive

If you are looking for a wildlife visit, where you can also see the famous Big 5 (lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhino). Various safari tours are offered.


Bredarsdorp: 1 hour drive

Worth a visit to the Kapula candle factory, Shipwreck Museum, various hiking and driving trails and restaurants.

 


Cape Agulhas: 1.5 hour's drive

The southern most point of the African continent. This is where the Indian and Atlantic Ocean meet, visit popular eateries, as well as ascending to the famous lighthouse at Agulhas.

 


Hermanus: 1.5 hour's drive

A popular holiday resort in the Western Cape Province of South Africa. Here, from July to December, the whales can be seen, which visit the bay of Walker Bay. Above the town lies a large nature reserve, which houses more than 1600 plants and 111 species of bird species.

 


Cape Town: 2 hour's drive

Second largest city in South Africa, there is much to see here including Table Mountain, Cape of Good Hope Nature reserve, the Waterfront... etc.

 


De Hoop Nature Reserve

The nature reserve De Hoop Nature Reserve is about 35000 ha. "Jewel of the Western Cape", so it is said on countless brochures, which really applies!

 


Garden Route

The Garden Route is a region on the south coast which stretches along the Indian Ocean, offering a unique natural paradise.


And if all this is too much for you, you can simply relax by the pool and enjoy the South African sunshine.
